Young The Giant are a very international band, all of their members coming from a variety of backgrounds. This fusion of cultures has created an album of catchy, easy to listen to tunes.
The band does not have the most energetic of music so it was interesting to see how they would keep the energy going at the concert. This was done through their great showmanship. The lead singer was really passionate with his singer, it was almost like he was having a breakdown only in front of three thousand people. The rest of the band also helped to keep the vibe going with moving around the stage and grooving to the music.
One of my favourite moments of the night was how the band did a cover of the Gorillaz song, Empire Ants. I still enjoy Gorillaz a lot since seeing them over a year ago and was quite impressed that this band had decided to do their own version of this song. It was very well done and helped to change up the pace of the set.
Another great part of the show was when they performed their most popular song, My Body. The whole audience was obviously into the song, and pretty much everyone went crazy, jumping up and down to the hit single. This was their last song that they played for the night as well, leaving it at a good note. Another highlight of the encore was when the lead singer decided to jump out into the audience and crowd surf!
Young The Giant put on a really great show and are definitely living up to all the hype around them. They are a show I would suggest to almost anyone with an interest in music!
