Tokyo Police Club - 102.1 The Edge Jingle Bell Concert Series

This was definitely the right show to end off my year with. The line-up was packed with three amazing indie-rock acts; Topanga, Hollerado and Tokyo Police Club! All put on amazing performances.
Topanga are one of my all time favourite bands. They have a simple rock sound but it's full of energy, bringing them above the rest of their indie contemporaries. The band was a great way to start off the winter night, getting the audience moving with their upbeat rock songs. It was incredible getting to see them perform in such a large venue (Sound Academy) in comparison to the times I have seen them before at smaller events.
Hollerado are definitely one of my top bands as well (and surprisingly enough I've seen them quite a few times with other favourites of the night, Topanga.) The band of course put on an amazing show - as always! They played a strong set of both fan favourites, and a few new songs from their upcoming album.
Finally Tokyo Police Club hit the stage! They put on a superb performance, ending off a super fun night. Tokyo Police Club were no different from the other bands of the night, in terms of the amount of energy brought to their set. It definitely helped to keep the audience going as the band powered through their dance-worthy tunes. Another great part of the show was since it was a Christmas bash, there was fake snow that fell over the audience at one point. It really helped enforce the holiday mood and was fun since there hadn't been any snow in the city at that point.
This was definitely a great show to end off my concert-going year of 2012, with a solid line-up that all featured energy filled performances with good tunes to boot.
