When I heard that Fun was coming to Toronto to perform a short, free show at local radio station's, 102.1 The Edge, studio I thought it would be a great opportunity to check out. Having had to miss Monster Truck's performance at the station the night before, I was determined to make it to this performance. It turned out to be a great experience!
The band was very nice, talking to the fans once we got into the studio and were waiting to go on air. They asked about whether everyone was from Toronto or not, and what they should see while visiting the city. Fun's set was only two songs long but was still great. The show was acoustic and they performed the two released singles off of their new album, Carry On and We Are Young, both being very well done. The lead singer, Nate, has a very talented voice which was amazing to hear live.
After the show they continued talking with fans, asking questions while signing posters, vinyl inserts and an array of papers, as well as taking photos with the small audience.
The show was great and I would definitely see them again doing a full, none acoustic set, and recommend them as great live show. Sadly though their Toronto show at the Mod Club is 19+ and sold out so I probably will not see them again anytime soon. But you should definitely try and catch them on their upcoming tour this spring!
