Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles

It's been a hard day's night and I've been working like a dog....
The famous lyrics crooned by the lovable mop-tops came alive once more on stage for me, two generations too late, to get a small taste of the fantasy otherwise known as.... The Beatles.
I had always loved listening to The Beatles from before I can even remember. My father being an avid fan had books, films, CDs, vinyls, tapes, and more scattered around the house. I remember one of favourite childhood films being the psychedelic inspired, Yellow Submarine. When I rediscovered them in 2009, I felt really inspired by them and therefore decided to go back to playing piano by purchasing a keyboard and to continue on my road to learning guitar, being greatly inspired by George Harrison, teaching himself to play at age 13. Thanks to The Beatles, I was also introduced to other music, both that inspired them and was inspired by them in the 50s and 70s. From there my love for music grew....
Rain is probably the closest I will ever get to seeing The Beatles, besides missing Paul McCartney by leaving Toronto 2 days before his concert, and Ringo playing in a Casino and not being old enough to go. They were playing the Canon Theatre in downtown Toronto. They put on a really good show that really made you feel like you were in the 60s, if you had been a fan of The Beatles then, just born, or not even a thought. They actually sounded very close to the real Beatles and had also mastered their stage characters. Except the "John" guy was nothing close to what John Lennon was actually like or sounded but that was not a large let down as he is not my favourite of the mop-tops. My only disappointment in the show had to be how they mainly did later songs, they had never been performed live, but there were none from my favourite album, Revolver, in the set.
Rain has three different groups of "the band" and therefore switch around so each show is a bit different. I would recommend them to anyone who has even a mild passion for The Beatles.
