Bob Dylan on his Never Ending Tour

Probably one of the most famous men in music. Bob Dylan is an inspiration to many through his music and opinions on the world. I was lucky to see this mighty legend live in Hong Kong.

He is definitely must see in any person's list of concerts to see before they die. Therefore it was essential that I went to see him. The concert was at a smallest venue than I had been to in Hong Kong. It was on Kowloon side in this mall sort of thing known as KITEC. The Star Hall there is a small show room with a stage, and a small balcony. There could only be a few thousand people there.

Bob Dylan has, understandably, aged. Therefore his voice isn't the same but it was still a bit disappointing.  He had lost his high range and during songs that relied more on the higher notes, such as Like A Rolling Stone, they sounded almost monotone in comparison. So like with Eric Clapton, those who do not have an appreciation for Bob Dylan may find the performance quite boring.

Mr. Dylan did a variety of songs though. His big hits ranging all the way back to the 60s and newer songs of his. Also he didn't stick to one type of song and played a variety of rhythms and styles. The performance was not particularly exciting. It was rather simple (can you imagine Bob Dylan running around the stage?) and he didn't talk much besides the usual for the older acts visiting Hong Kong, just saying "Thank You" and "It's nice to be here."

A very cool part of the concert was how before, while I was waiting for the show to start, I noticed many of the other people there were not from Hong Kong and travelled around to see Bob Dylan. Also they had seen him many times throughout his career.

Bob Dylan was a pretty good concert as everyone there really like him and his music so there was a lot of energy from the crowd. Also even though his songs may not sound the same as they used they were still all very well done. Bob Dylan is a must-see!
