Jeff Beck - Emotion and Commotion

via the Toronto Sun
My second famous Yardbirds guitarist concert, the first being Eric Clapton. And even though Jeff Beck talked just as much as Eric Clapton he seemed to have more character onstage just in his stage presence. His guitar skills are just as good as ever and it was awesome getting to see him live!
Jeff did a good solid set of his fusion material, and interacted with his band members a lot and let them each shine in front of the audience. Rhonda Smith is the bass player in the band touring with him at the moment and I thought that was pretty cool. He didn't talk but much, but then again not much needs to be said, everyone there had an unanimous appreciation of Jeff Beck's guitar skills. The majority of the audience was men in their forties to late sixties.
Jeff Beck played one of my favourite songs of his, a cover of The Beatles song A Day In The Life. As expected he did an amazing job with the song, it also one of my favourite songs by The Beatles. During the encore he also did a cover of a Lady Gaga song, Bad Romance. This I thought was amazing, he did a good job on it and also it was cool since it's a song by a modern music icon. He also called his opening act, Tyler Bryant, back onto stage during the encore to play guitar with him during a cover of Sly & The Family Stone's Higher.
Jeff Beck put on an amazing show and any person with a passion for guitar music should go see this legend live!
