Grey Kingdom at Sonic Boom CMW

Grey Kingdom are a three piece folk act, so obviously their performance took a different pace from the band before them, The Balconies.
Grey Kingdom's set was very quiet, reinforced by the usually silent crowd at Sonic Boom's in-stores, even so they still put on a great performance. The three musicians were very talented with the bass, violin and harmonies melding together with the lead singer's vocals and guitar.
The lead singer, Spencer, was actually very talkative meaning between every song there was a couple of minutes of banter, usually involving him telling a story. Even with all the talking, Grey Kingdom still did a lovely job with their set.
The highlight for me probably was when they first came on. The lead singer had written a song only seven minutes before in the back room on a napkin and decided that he would play it for the audience, even though he wasn't sure if it was any good. I was asked to hold his lyrics sheet/napkin, in front of the stage while he performed solo with his acoustic guitar. This definitely made for a memorable experience!
Grey Kingdom are a very talented band and a recommendation to anyone who enjoys folk or acoustic music.
