Blitzen Trapper In-store at Sonic Boom

The Bob Dylan-esque voice of Blitzen Trapper's lead singer, Eric Earley, is almost eery in likeliness on some of the songs off of the band's newest album, American Goldwing.
After my great experience at The Drums in-store at Sonic Boom, I've kept myself updated on their in-stores since I thought it would be a good way to see some live music. Also it turns out, I've found some new bands that I love! Sadly I wasn't able to attend The Besnard Lakes in-store on October 13th but after listening to their music online I have a new favourite. I also discovered Blitzen Trapper thanks to this record store.
Arriving at Sonic Boom on the day of the show, I immediately bought American Goldwing since even if I didn't have the chance to get it signed or whatnot I knew I would definitely listen to it (which I have!) Blitzen Trapper's set was acoustic and even though all members of the band were present, their two of their guitarists did not go on stage and browsed the store the whole time. Eric Earley played acoustic guitar, harmonica and sang, while Marty and Brian, two other members of the band, sang harmonies when needed. Their set was rather long for a free in-store at seven or eight songs. They also took requests for the last couple songs when they were running out of ideas of what to play. Blitzen Trapper's sound was very good live!
I was able to get my copy of American Goldwing signed by all the band members and talk to each of them. They were all very nice! Blitzen Trapper were awesome live and you should try and catch them on their current tour.
